Experienced Automotive/Industrial Painter Location: 610 N. Locust St. Oak Harbor, OH 43449Shift: 1st (8a-5p)Pay: $24-$27/hr based on experience Our client builds and services cargo tank trucks and trailers and is seeking quality-oriented painters for our paint department. Full-time year-round position. The painting process involves using HVLP paint sprayers and brushes to apply paint to trucks and industrial structures, determining the necessary application of paint for a thorough coat and checking for runs or sags in the paint to ensure a quality product. We usually spray epoxy primers and single-stage polyurethanes, usually in solid colors with an occasional metallic. Typical duties include but are not limited toMoving and preparing equipment for painting.Mixing products (multi-part primer, single-stage polyurethane, base colors and clear) in amounts and ratios required.High quality spray application of multi-component epoxy and polyurethane paints using pressure feed HVLP equipment with little dirt and a consistent gloss and texture.Assembling trucks after painting.Repairing cosmetic damage to surfaces with body filler.Sanding, buffing and touch-up painting.Working in a safe manner and wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators.Ensuring area to be used for application is properly vented and changing ventilation filters.Cleaning and maintaining all paint application equipment, PPE, paint booths and storage areas.Ensuring adequate supply of products.Performing other duties assigned. RequirementsMust have a willingness to learn.Must be at least 18 years of age.High school diploma or GED required.Driver's license required for moving customer vehicles.Must work well on your own and with others.Experience in automotive or industrial spray painting.Prior body shop experience is helpful.Great attention to detail and high quality standards.Employees are expected to provide their own hand tools and steel toe shoes/steel toe boots. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to manipulate small hand tools, stand, walk, bend, squat, climb ladders, work from ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
