Job SummaryAt DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan, we are seeking a skilled Pediatric Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality radiological exams on pediatric patients.Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure.
• Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors.
• Explain procedures to patients, including risks, benefits, and alternatives.
• Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
• Review images, make initial observations, and document exceptions from established protocols.
• Communicate data to radiologists and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate.
• Provide post-care instructions to patients and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Able to take call/standby as required by the department.Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
  • Analytical and clinical skills necessary to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing radiographs.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal effectively with patients.
  • Technical knowledge necessary to operate equipment, including computers.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment.Work EnvironmentThis position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients. The ability to stand, bend, push, pull, reach, and lift is necessary to provide patient care.
