Job Description:
OverviewThe Claims IT Assistant Vice President will play a
critical role in leading and managing the Information Technology
(IT) operations and strategy within the Claims IT department. This
individual will work closely with senior leadership, other IT
teams, and Claims professionals to ensure the effective delivery
and continuous improvement of IT services supporting claims
processing and management. The ideal candidate will possess a
strong background in IT leadership, project management, and
insurance claims operations with a focus on innovation, efficiency,
and customer satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesTechnology Strategy and
Management
- Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with the Claims
department's goals and objectives.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of IT systems and
applications that support claims processing and management.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of IT
infrastructure within the Claims department.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate emerging technologies
and best practices into claims operations.Leadership and Team
Management
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing
direction, support, and development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous
improvement within the IT team.
- Manage resource allocation and project prioritization to ensure
the timely and successful delivery of IT initiatives.
- Establish performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations
to ensure team effectiveness and alignment with departmental
goals.Project Management
- Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects related to claims
processing, including system upgrades, migrations, and
integrations.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring
adherence to scope, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure
project objectives are met and risks are mitigated.
- Monitor project progress, provide regular status updates, and
implement corrective actions as needed.Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between the Claims department and IT teams,
ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements and
priorities.
- Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for
IT-driven improvements in claims operations.
- Engage with external vendors and partners to evaluate and
implement technological solutions that enhance claims
processing.
- Represent the Claims IT function in senior leadership meetings
and contribute to strategic decision-making.Data Management and
Analytics
- Oversee the management and analysis of claims data to drive
insights and inform decision-making.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security in compliance
with industry regulations and company policies.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide
real-time visibility into claims performance metrics.
- Leverage data analytics to identify trends, optimize processes,
and improve customer outcomes.QualificationsEducation and
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science,
Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at
least 5 years in a leadership role within the insurance industry,
preferably in claims technology.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT
development delivery from inception to completion.
- Experience with claims processing systems, data management, and
analytics tools.Skills and Competencies
